Mucinous Ovarian Tumor with a Sarcoma-Like Mural Nodule : A Case Report

Abstract

|
The solid mural nodules within the mucinous ovarian tumors re extremely rare and to date about 30 cases have been reported in the literature. But these cases have not been yet reported in Korea. Pathologically mural nodules of anaplastic
carcinoma
and
true sarcoma may be confused on both gross and microscopic examination with sarcoma-like nodules. The differenciation between these lesions have a prognostic significance because of the favorable prognosis of sarcoma-like mural nodules.
We report a case of mucinous ovarian tumor with a sarcoma-like mural nodule in a 18-year-old nulliparous woman.
